Agni Nakshatram: Agni Nakshatram is a 14 day period of terrible heat during May making it hottest period of the year. It signifies the movement of the sun through the third and fourth pada of Bharani and first pada of Rohini.
Also this period of the Agni Nakshatra is seen as dosha period lasting for 14 days. Which results in unsuccessful journeys, disease are not cured during this period, money lent will not be returned.
There is a common belief that even during the ancient times, this period was not chosen for performing auspicious events, owing to the intense heat wave that strikes during the time of Agni Nakshatram.
Therefore it is safe to worship the lord during this period and ask him to safeguard us against all misfortunes.
